Data collection using online forums and focus groups is advantageous in terms of cost and it allows data to be collected anonymously from the comfort of the respondent's home. The longitudinal nature of online forum discussions also allows respondents time to go away and reflect upon their responses whilst providing them with the opportunity to comment further at a later date.
