Back to case studies listingLegacy of the Games
TTG Media wanted to write a piece about the legacy of the Games from a travel and tourism perspective and asked explore research to work with them.
We designed a questionnaire to find out what the public really thought at the end of our amazing 2012 summer of sport.
We conducted 1,000 online interviews using our in-house panel, Panelbase.com, during September 2012. In summary, the results of our survey were very positive:
- People believe the Games projected a good image of the UK, both nationally and globally
- People expect there to be an increase in inbound tourism as a result of The Games.
- Young people in particular said that the Games had inspired them to visit London for pleasure purposes.
Despite all the concerns before the events, people didn’t feel that transport, security or hotel accommodation had been of great concern; the biggest bugbear was the price and availability of tickets.
